"3 Days of Traffic and Transport" is the motto of the "Friedrich List" Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences again from 10 November on. The alumni association Spätverkehr e. V., the student council and the faculty have once again put together an impressive programme.

DAY 1: Career Fair "Contact Transport and Traffic" – Full speed ahead towards career entry

It all starts on Thursday, 10 November, with the traditional career fair "Contact Transport and Traffic" (KontaktMesse Verkehr - KMV). It has been an integral part of the faculty's annual calendar for around 15 years and is an absolute magnet for visitors.

Organised and supervised by the committed alumni association Spätverkehr, it attracts almost 40 companies every year that are interested in students and young professionals from traffic, transport, logistics and related disciplines such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or economics. From B for Basler-Verkehrs-Betriebe to CE cideon engineering GmbH, Deutsche Bahn AG, IFB - Institut für Bahntechnik GmbH, Siemens Mobility GmbH to Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main GmbH and WSP Infrastructure Engineering GmbH, exciting employers await interested students.

The experiences of the past years show that the KMV, as a career fair for mobility, transport and logistics, takes place at eye level and successfully enables a target group-oriented approach to future employees.

When: 10. November, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Official opening at 10:30 a.m.
Where: Gerhart Potthoff Building, Hettnerstrasse 1-3, 01069 Dresden
Participation: free of charge, all interested persons, especially students, are welcome to attend

DAY 2: Faculty Day (graduation ceremony) – Teaching prize awarded for the first time

You have completed your studies, graduated with a diploma, Bachelor's or Master's degree. This must be celebrated in style. Every year, on the Friday after the career fair "Contact Transport and Traffic", the faculty honours its graduates, doctoral candidates and award winners of the past year.

This year, the faculty was able to secure the Director of the Institute of Transport Research at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), Prof. Meike Jipp, as the keynote speaker.

She will speak on the topic: "Climate-friendly mobility: A utopia or soon a reality?" (in German)

Content: Mobility is essential for the society to be able to fulfil its needs and desires. However, mobility can also harm the climate: CO² emissions for the transport sector in 2021 were above the annual emission level permitted by the Federal Climate Protection Act. Measures and instruments to reduce these emissions have had little success so far. In her presentation, Meike Jipp will therefore discuss why the reduction of transport emissions is so difficult to achieve and how important it is to actively involve society in the definition and implementation of measures for climate protection in transport. She will focus on measures that change the spaces in which people are mobile, make transport more climate-friendly and provide attractive offers that enable mobility. Finally, she will show how these measures can work together and how mobility can be realised in a climate-friendly way in the future.

The "Teaching Prize of the Friedrich List' Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences" will also be awarded for the first time during the event. The students of the faculty were able to vote on this and honour outstanding teaching at the faculty with their votes.

From now on, the prize will be awarded annually to one teacher from the undergraduate teaching (basic studies in transport engineering or Bachelor of Transport Economics) and one teacher from the postgraduate teaching (main studies in transport engineering, Master's programmes). It is endowed with 250 euros each.

When: 11. November, 2 to 4 p.m.
Where: POT 81, Gerhart-Potthoff-Bau, Hettnerstraße 1-3, 01069 Dresden
Participation: free of charge, all interested parties are welcome. Students of the faculty are explicitly invited to attend the event.

DAY 3: Faculty Ball

First of all, the bad news for all those interested who do not have a ticket yet: The ball is completely sold out. This, in turn, makes the members of the Spätverkehr e. V. very happy. The alumni association, supported by the student council, has been organising the ball for 15 years.

Every year, the ball is the crowning finale of the "3 Days of Transport and Traffic" at our faculty. Embedded in an extensive programme, the graduates of the past year are also honoured here once again. In addition to the graduates and their families, alumni of the faculty from near and far, staff and students also attend the ball. The ball is thus also a platform for making new contacts or rekindling existing ones.

When: 12. November, from 6:00 pm
Where: Ballroom Lindengarten in the mightyTwice Hotel Dresden
Attendance: Sold out – tickets had to be purchased in advance
