Award
Maurice Krauth and Matthias Ribesmeier win the Tra Visions Award in the "Crossmodality" category, Jing Shan takes second place in the "Rail" category.
At the "TRA VISIONS Conference 2024 - Young Researcher Competition", which took place in Dublin on April 15, 2024, three members of the Chair of Railway Operations received awards in the categories "Crossmodality" and "Transport Mode Rail".
Maurice Krauth and Matthias Ribesmeier won 1st place in the Tra Visions Award in the "Crossmodality" category with their research on the topic of "Intelligent Carrier Decision Framework for Sustainable Intermodal Delivery Services". The research project deals with urban infrastructure congestion and environmental concerns in the courier industry. By developing an Inverse cumulative distribution function (ICDF) and a web tool, the research results support freight forwarders in shifting goods from road to rail in an economical and sustainable way.
Jing Shan published the article "Service quality assessment of international rail transport with multiple border crossings: Eurasian rail transport as an example" together with Nikola Bešinović, holder of the Chair of Railway Systems Operation, and Jörn Schönberger, holder of the Chair of Transport Operations and Logistics. In their joint publication, they dealt with the service quality of Eurasian rail freight transport and whether it can withstand the growing demands of international trade. You can read the article here. Jing Shan was awarded 2nd place in the "Rail" category of the Tra Visions Awards for his research work.
We congratulate Maurice Krauth, Matthias Ribesmeier and Jing Shan for this special award!
