The Chair of Automobile Engineering presents current research at the 24th Saxon Road Safety Day of the Saxon State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport (SMWA) at the Lausitzring.

New technologies such as driver assistance systems, automated driving, electromobility and the networking of vehicles pose completely new challenges for road safety. To ensure the safety of all road users on roads, cycle paths and footpaths, the Free State of Saxony has published a new road safety programme. As part of the programme's public relations work, the Saxon Road Safety Day took place for the 24th time on 11 August 2024, at which representatives of the Faculty of Transport Sciences also presented current transport research on safe mobility this year.

Prof. Prokop, together with Rajagopalan Kannan and Enrico Just, provided information about the mFUND-funded project SivaS, the Smart Mobility Lab and the Dresden Driving Simulator. Minister of State Martin Dulig also met with the researchers at the professorship's stand to discuss current research work and future projects relating to automated road traffic.

We would like to thank the Saxon State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport for providing the exhibition space and the district of Zwickau for organising the event.
