Lecturers from the "Friedrich List" Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences exchanged ideas on the topic of "hybrid teaching" and further developed digital teaching formats.

Since the beginning of the Corona pandemic at the latest, all students and teachers at the "Friedrich List" Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences have been gathering experience in digital learning and teaching. In order to benefit from the advantages of electronic teaching in the long term, PD Dr Ulrich Maschek initiated the first e-learning meeting in mid-February.

The topic was "Hybrid courses: In the lecture hall and online - did it work?" interested lecturers from the faculty exchanged ideas with each other and with Claudia Böhm from the Centre for Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching (ZiLL) at the TU Dresden. For two hours, the participants discussed their experiences, collected advantages and disadvantages and derived best practices of hybrid teaching. The e-learning meeting came to the conclusion that hybrid teaching offers clear advantages for students who are prevented from attending due to illness, for example, but that it is technically relatively complex.

The e-learning meeting will now take place quarterly and promote the exchange on digital teaching at the faculty. The next meeting will be on 6 May 2022, when the focus will be on "digital distance examinations". Interested teachers are cordially invited and can find further information in the OPAL course "E-Learning Fak. VW".
