E-Mobility
As part of a research collaboration with Porsche AG, the results for improved charging processes for electric vehicles were published at the Chair of Vehicle Mechatronics.
Charging processes for electric vehicles are not always optimal. In order to improve such processes, new approaches were researched as part of the research cooperation between Porsche AG and TU Dresden. To this end, Porsche AG provided the Institute of Automotive Engineering (IAD) with a fully electric Porsche Taycan on loan. The test vehicle was used to prototypically integrate, test and optimize the developed solutions. This year, the Chair of Vehicle Mechatronics published the results of the research work.
Electric vehicles collect data on charging processes and store it in a computer center, where the data is used in simulations using model-based vehicle images. The charging behaviour can thus be reproduced virtually and used for troubleshooting and charging time optimization.
As part of its research, the Chair of Vehicle Mechatronics has developed a prototype technology that should make e-mobility even more reliable and attractive.
