Students of transport sciences and employees of the professorships for traffic safety engineering and railway infrastructure are currently getting to know the Chinese railroad sector in depth as part of an excursion to China.

Beijing, Jinan, Shanghai - even these distances can be covered in a short time with the Chinese high-speed train. Students and staff from the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences are currently on an excursion to China to learn about the latest technologies in Chinese rail transport and to discuss the future of rail transport with experts. Accompanied by researchers from Beijing Jiaotong University, the participants are traveling within the Chinese high-speed rail network from Beijing to Jinan, Shanghai, Tangshan, Tianjin and finally back to Beijing.

The two-week study trip includes visits to various companies such as the SF Logistics Center in Beijing, CASCO Signal in Shanghai, the China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) in Tangshan and the Tianjin Rail Transit Control Center. The excursion participants will also be given guided tours of central railroad and metro stations and take part in workshops on high-speed rail, train operation control and timetable planning for Chinese railroads.

Cultural program items such as a visit to the Great Wall of China in Badaling, Qianmen Street in Beijing or the Shanghai Bund, Shanghai's landmark, are also part of the program, as are city tours in Jinan, Tangshan and Tianjin.

We wish all participants an educationally time and many unforgettable impressions of China.
