The Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences has been welcomed as a member of the European innovation network EIT Urban Mobility. As a partner in the Doctoral Training Program (DTN), the Faculty will provide young researchers access to a qualification and exchange platform in the field of urban mobility.

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is an institution of the European Union that promotes innovation in various key areas. As one of the so-called Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs), the EIT Urban Mobility (EIT UM) pursues the objective of creating liveable cities through sustainable, intelligent and integrative mobility solutions. To do this, the EIT UM networks stakeholders from research, business, administration and society.

The Doctoral Training Program (DTN) of the EIT Urban Mobility is an academic network that promotes innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of urban mobility. For doctoral students, the network offers a comprehensive qualification program as well as a platform for networking and the exchange of experiences and ideas on research projects. In addition to academic training at their home university, participants can acquire practical skills in the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship and mobility management. The program is complemented by international summer schools, mentoring formats, networking events and access to an active alumni network.

Membership of EIT Urban Mobility gives the faculty access to a Europe-wide innovation network with over 250 partners and a broad network of 1,100 organizations in 35 countries. Numerous renowned partners, including the Technical University of Munich, the Technical University of Madrid and the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, are members of EIT Urban Mobility.
