Digital NFDI4Ing conference on 27 + 28 September focuses on best practice, research software, infrastructure and cooperation. Participation is free of charge.

The virtual third conference of the National Research Data Infrastructure for the Engineering Sciences (NFDI4Ing) on 27 and 28 September 2021 will focus on "The state and future of research data management in the engineering sciences". It is organised by TU Braunschweig in cooperation with SLUB Dresden and the Chair of Integrated Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering at the "Friedrich List" Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences at TU Dresden.

Data is the raw material of the future. FAIR data, data quality and research data management (FDM) are therefore experiencing a steady increase in importance. The way research is conducted is changing. What these changes look like is being discussed and shaped jointly by researchers. In line with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable), the conference will focus on sharing and keeping up. In keeping with this motto, the organisers would like to look at and discuss the current state and future of research data management (FDM) with the participants from four perspectives:

  • experiences and lived practice based on best practice examples
  • efficient, interacting and scalable infrastructures and data management systems and their key roles
  • data exchange in the context of interdisciplinary cooperation, e.g. in collaborative research projects
  • the increasing importance of research software and its sustainable development for scientific work.

The TU Dresden will be represented in cooperation with the SLUB as well as the TIB Hannover with the workshop "Structured metadata in the transport and traffic sciences".

All interested parties are cordially invited to attend the workshops and lectures. Participation is free of charge.

Registration in advance is requested at the following website: https://nfdi4ing.de/konferenz

NFDI4Ing

NFDI4Ing represents the engineering community. At its core, the consortium NFDI4Ing consists of eleven member institutions. Each member introduces its specific expertise and experience to the joint work programme. Furthermore, the consortium has a great number of participants from all over the German engineering research landscape. All members and participants are part of wider national and international networks. More under: https://nfdi4ing.de/
