Dresden traffic researcher moves to Karlsruhe University.

The "Friedrich List" Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences and its staff warmly congratulate Dr. Angela Francke on her appointment to the Endowed Chair of Cycling at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. She has accepted the appointment as of 1 March 2021.

Dr. Angela Francke has been closely associated with the "Friedrich List" Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences since her diploma studies in transport economics. As a research assistant and after her doctorate as a postdoc at the Chair of Traffic and Transportation Psychology, her research focuses include cycling and cycling infrastructure; planning and promotion of active mobility and local mobility; Big Data and empirical data analysis of mobility behaviour; transport development and innovations as well as on road safety - also with a focus on transition and developing countries.

Her research projects and their results, for example on year-round cycling, on a German typology of cycling, on mobility behaviour during the Corona pandemic or on the mobility behaviour of people with migration experience, attracted a great deal of attention both professionally and in the media and were honoured with awards or scholarships.

The "Friedrich List" Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences regrets losing a committed scientist. On the other hand, the faculty also gains a new cooperation and network partner for joint projects in teaching and research.

We wish Angela Francke a good start and much success for her new tasks and challenges.
