Researchers from the Chair of Transport Ecology took part in the annual conference of the Cycling Research Board at ETH Zurich with a wide range of contributions on cycling research.

At this year's conference of the Cycling Research Board, an international platform for innovative approaches to cycling research, the Chair of Transport Ecology presented current research projects relating to bicycle mobility. From the analysis of cycling behavior in cities to the use of OpenStreetMap data for the improvement of cycling infrastructure, the researchers presented a wide range of topics.

Iwan Porojkow, research assistant at the Chair of Transport Ecology, received the award for the best session of the conference for his contribution entitled “Enhancing OpenStreetMap data with computer vision and Street View images”. Congratulations

Research on active mobility at the Faculty of Transportation Sciences

At the Chair of Transport Ecology, researchers at the BikeLab are particularly concerned with analyzing the behavior of cyclists and measures to make cycling more attractive, thereby making important contributions to active mobility and liveable cities.

Interesting insights into cycling research at TU Dresden can be found in the current article “Right of way for bicycles: How can cycling become safer and more attractive?” from the video series “Gute Frage”:
