On Tuesday, July 22, we welcomed Barbara Meyer, State Secretary at the Saxon State Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, to the faculty.

The State Secretary's visit focused on the presentation of innovative research projects and the faculty's unique research infrastructure.

In addition to flagship projects such as the Collaborative Research Center "AgiMo", the "AirMetro" Research Training Group and the Smart Mobility Lab, the State Secretary was able to learn about current transport research projects at various themed tables. The projects WALEMObase, Saxon-Bohemian Switzerland National Park, MoveOn, SINFONICA, the mobility survey SrV and transport infrastructure projects on rail and road were presented by the chairs. A visit to the railway operation laboratory rounded off the meeting.

The State Secretary was amazed by the diversity of transport research: "I am very impressed by the faculty's teaching and research. I am particularly convinced by its unique approach of taking a holistic view of transport and mobility issues. The knowledge developed here lays the foundation for innovations in sustainable, connected, and inclusive mobility—across Germany, across borders, and across Europe."
